This two-day workshop is designed to prepare teachers to begin blended learning at the beginning of the school year. These sessions are designed to be sequential and will require teachers to commit to joining both days.
WARM UP
July 31st, 8:30-11:30 AM Teachers will begin the games by starting with the why and what for personalized learning. During this intro session, they'll warm up with blended learning as one of the first paths to personalization. |
TEAM PRACTICE
July 31st, 12:30-4:00 PM Following the warm up, teachers will have a chance to earn a hat trick during our blended learning fair that will showcase best moves in the classroom. |
QUALIFICATION
August 1st, 8:30-11:30 AM In grade level clusters, teachers will learn from PL all-stars and collaboratively plan for blended learning systems and for the first six weeks of school. During the qualifying round, teachers will produce a plan and playbook that will help them in the final game (and teach the first six weeks of school too!). |
FINAL GAME
August 1st, 12:30-4:00 PM In the final game, teachers will participate in an exhibition of learning where they will showcase their plan for blended and personalized learning back in their classroom. |

Who: New teachers or teachers who are at PL Cohort schools and identified emerging PL schools.
When: Tuesday, July 31st and Wednesday, August 1st. Both days will begin at 8:30 AM and end at 4:00PM.

Why: Prepare teachers for teaching in a blended and personalized environment and to ensure he/she feels prepare to start the year with systems, procedures, and plans for the first six weeks of the 2018-2019 school year (all while learning in a blended and personalized way too!).

Yes, we'll manually enter participants and award credit via Cornerstone following the workshop.
What if I can only attend one day?
This workshop is intentionally designed to be continuous, so we ask that you not register unless you can commit to both days.
Do I need to have any prior knowledge of or practice of blended or personalized learning to attend?
No, that is what this workshop is designed to equip participants with.
What do I need to do/bring with me when attending?
An open mind, excitement, a device, headphones, and a charger for your device!
Can I attend if I'm not teaching at a current PL campus?
At this time, we cannot accommodate teachers outside of the cohort. We strongly suggest checking out the blended learning 1.0 community of practice here.
Will lunch be provided?
No, but we'll have snacks! You'll have an hour for lunch, so you're welcome to leave for lunch or stay during lunch time to eat.
