Welcome to the May edition of the PL Lighthouse! 
This monthly email blast and webpage has been designed to serve much like a lighthouse, to serve as a way forward and help in navigating through the busy school year. Nothing else speaks of safety in the face of adversity and challenge quite like the lighthouse. 

We are looking forward to connecting with campus teams next week for Design Studio Week! 

Campus leadership teams [principal + QB required] should plan to attend the virtual kick-off Monday, May 11th from 2:00-3:00 PM. During the kick-off Zoom meeting, we'll introduce and release the self-paced team work plans that must be completed by Friday, May 15th at 5:00 PM. Tasks will be presented in a must do and may do format with a focus on preparation for the 2020-2021 school year. It will be critical for all teams to complete tasks during this week so that the central PL team can identify supports needed and priority focus areas to design summer and fall professional development and support for your team. 

In preparation for Design Studio Week, we strongly encourage you to block off at least three one-hour blocks of time with your teams May 12-15th to complete tasks. 

May Quarterback Huddle | May 7th
Plan to virtually attend our QB Huddle, Thursday, May 7th from 3:00-4:00 PM. This will be critical for all campus QBs to join. We'll review plans and prepare QBs to facilitate time with school teams during Design Studio Week. QBs should have received a calendar invite with Zoom information, if you did not, please let us know!

Join us virtually this summer to earn your Level 1 and Level 2 Certification from Google. Earn your Level 1 and Level 2 Certification from Google through a free self-paced course. Once enrolled, you will have access to the course for 10 months. This opportunity is open only to teachers and leaders at current personalized learning, Math Innovation Zones, and Verizon Innovative Learning schools in Dallas ISD.

Save the date! May 18-22nd the Personalized Learning Department and the Assessment for Learning Department will be hosting a series of can't miss webinars with prominent authors in our work. Look out for an email later this week for registration access. Personalized Learning and Assessment for Learning teachers and leaders will get early access (24 hours) to register before it goes live for the entire District.
