This Book Club will help educators explore strategies to become the Wild Card that changes the game for students, creating cultures of innovation and real learning. Braving the PL Wilderness
Led by: Jason Broussard The PL wilderness is an untamed, unpredictable place of solitude and searching for belonging. The story we tell ourselves is that we are all alone in the work. What if we were brave enough to craft a story that celebrates our PL journey, no matter how untamed or unpredictable? A story that empowers a sense of belonging through a collective voice. This Book Club is for educators in all roles who are interested in exploring how the power of storytelling can help brave the PL wilderness. Suggested audience: educators in a personalized learning context |
The Vulnerable Educator
Led by: The PL Team How does trauma affect a child's mind--and how can that mind recover? Culturally responsive instruction has shown promise, but many teachers have struggled with its implementation. Only when we understand the science of the mind and the power of love and nurturing, can we hope to heal the spirit of even the most wounded child and close the achievement gap. This Book Club is for educators interested in learning more about cutting-edge neuroscience research for designing and implementing brain-compatible culturally responsive instruction that is rooted in vulnerability. Suggested audience: teachers and instructional coaches |
