Note: Each day/workshop is designed to be sequential; however, you are not required to opt in to all three days in order to participate. Just join the daily activities that fit your needs!

Day One Morning: Strength + Conditioning
July 26th, 9:00- 11:00 AM Suggested Audience: Teachers at new or emerging PL schools, new teachers at existing PL schools, or new teachers at MIZ or RBL schools Teachers + leaders will begin PL Workout Week through strength and conditioning, starting with the why and what for personalized learning. During this workshop, participants will learn how to gain confidence with strength training by using blended learning as one of the first paths to personalization. |
Day One Afternoon: Yoga Retreat
July 26th, 1:00- 3:00 PM Suggested Audience: Teachers at new or emerging PL schools, new teachers at existing PL schools, or teachers at RBL schools During this retreat workshop, teachers + leaders will learn about Dallas ISD's Blended and Personalized Learning coaching tools and how to use them to drive their own practice. This retreat will ground participants in our common language and help focus teachers + leaders on foundational practices to begin with first. |
Day Two: Bootcamp July 27th 9:00 AM-3:00 PM Lunch will be from 11:30-12:15 PM Suggested Audience: Beginner and advanced PL teachers Sessions will be differentiated based on experience and you will have a chance to opt-in to sessions based on interest. The Bootcamp will kick-off with a whole group opening ceremony featuring a keynote that you won't want to miss. During Bootcamp, participants will exercise their minds and practice by choosing from live or self-paced workouts (sessions) led by Dallas ISD blended and personalized teachers and leaders. Throughout the day, participants will earn bootcamp badges that can be used to win classroom supplies to start the year. |
Day Three: Race Day
July 28th, 9:00 AM- 3:00 PM Lunch will be from 11:30-12:15 PM Suggested Audience: Beginner and advanced PL teachers Race Day [9:00 AM- 2:00 PM] In grade level clusters, PL Pace Setters (teacher leaders) will share their race strategies and blended practices to start collaboratively planning for blended and personalized learning systems for the first six weeks of school. During Race Day teachers will produce a plan and prepare reflections for the Last Lap + Celebration. Last Lap + Celebration [2:00 PM- 3:00 PM] At the Last Lap + Celebration, teachers will participate in an exhibition of learning where they will showcase their plan for blended and personalized learning back in their classroom through a virtual race simulation. |

When: Monday, July 26th, Tuesday, July 27th, and Wednesday July 28th. Times differ across days [see above].
Where: Synchronous sessions will be held via Zoom and asynchronous sessions will be shared with participants.
Why: Prepare teachers for teaching in a blended and personalized environment and to ensure he/she feels prepare to start the year with systems, procedures, and plans for the first six weeks of the 2021-2022 school year (all while learning in a blended and personalized way too!).

No, that is what day one of the PL Workout Week is designed to equip participants with.

Can I attend if I'm not teaching at a current PL, MIZ, or RBL campus?
At this time, we cannot accommodate teachers outside of these cohorts. We strongly suggest checking back in the fall for opportunities open to anyone across the district.
